NaNoing?

What is the definition of NaNoing, you ask?  Here’s the Merriam-Webster definition.  (okay, not really, but I did steal their layout.)

NaNo

Function verb

Inflected Form(s): NaNoed; NaNoing.

Etymology: Modern English NaNo, from NaNoWriMo

transitive verb

1. To write madly in order to reach an unreasonable wordcount within an insane deadline with a story that may well be crap, but will be written crap if you stick with the program. [And as CJ Cherryh said, it’s okay to write mediocre, so long as you edit brilliantly.]

2. To participate in the event of NaNoWriMo, joining other nutcases in the incredible insanity of trying to write 50,000 words in thirty days.

Related phrases:

NaNoed Out: incapable of typing another word, though the fingers keep wriggling.

NaNot: term rejecting opportunities for socialization, fresh air, other hobbies, and most non-emergency requests.

NaNotYet: response to emergency requests.  Means the participant may pull herself away from the keyboard any minute.  Or not.

The adjective definitions are in another entry, of course.  😉
