Of Straight Holes and Hot Dogs

Put the second DVD stand together tonight.  It took about twenty minutes, start to finish, and I didn’t need my drill once.  *pout*  Helps when the damn pre-drilled holes are straight and where they’re supposed to be.

While putting Hope to bed, I opened her closet to put something away.  And found a package of hot dogs.  She’d taken them from the freezer, defrosted them, decided she didn’t like them (I usually buy chicken, these were beef because it’s the only kind Bly knows) and left them there.  For days.  Two days ago Bly found half a hot dog in the family room, and Hope denied knowing anything about it.

So she stole, and she lied, and she kept right on lying.  She’s now on ‘toddler watch.’  If she’s going to act like a two-year-old, she’s going to be treated like one.  Which means she’s not trusted anywhere, not even her room, alone.

*sigh*  Just what I needed in order to finish getting the house together and get back to writing, a pouting seven-year-old underfoot all the time.
