So. Two weeks off from work. Of course there were holidays in there, so it wasn’t all my time (I like holidays. For about an hour. Maybe two, if I get good presents. Which I did. I showed you my pen–you oughtta see my squid!)
Anyway. Holidays can be fun, but they get in the way of what I really want to be doing.
I believe I mentioned my intention to edit Fidelis, and that’s what I’ve done. Here’s the breakdown so I can get this card off my desk:
I started on the 20th, and with Christmas and all it took me till the night of the 25th to get my theme, character arc, and blurb threshed out, and my MS printed.
12/26 pages 1-10 edited.
12/27 pg 11-27
12/28 pg 28-47
12/29 wrote two scenes to add in, 750 words and 371.
12/30 This was a major run-around and do errands day, and I didn’t touch it at all.
12/31 Suddenly it hit me there was much to do, and little time. The kid and I began a major work on the house in here somewhere, and I edited the two new scenes and pg 48-59 also.
1/1 Major housework continued–rearranging furniture in a tiny apartment is not an easy process–and editing. 60-65.
1/2 pg 66-80. Whole lotta laundry, and cleaning the kitchen after moving everything. How is it possible that I’ve cleaned under the stove, the refrigerator, and the microwave recently? I am not that girl!
1/3 Today. Last day of vacation. Stuffing all the stuff we hadn’t got put away into places where we’ll be able to get at it to go through it–I’m a firm believer in decluttering–and trying to get ready to go back tomorrow. We both feel too prepared–we’re haunted by the thought we must be forgetting something.
So. As of tonight…no more work done on Fidelis. I’m within six pages of the end, but the end must change as I realized my theme has been off all this time. I think the new plan is to begin the type-in, tweaking as I go (the theme is not off by much) and then re-write the ending when I get there. Hopefully this weekend.
And then it shall be DONE and I can turn my attention to Beast! Which contains SMUT! Oh, smut, I’ve missed you so while I was off writing YA…
