First Attempt

Okay, so I sat down with the dang thing.  And guess what?

Holly Lisle–who is not, no, the be-all and end-all of writing advisors, but is multi-published and seems pretty smart–Holly Lisle says Thou Shalt Have Conflict on Every Page.

First page, no conflict.  Not even in the first scene, and very little that matters in the second.  *sigh* 

Time for KD’s Rule One of Manuscript Editing: Thou Shalt Run Away and Let the Muses Ponder a Bit.

On that note, I’m going to surf for a while and let my voices bat around a few ideas.
