I think the first video game I ever played was the one that came with our first computer. I don’t recall the name of it. It was a space-flying game, and you were supposed to use warp speed or some such to dart about the galaxy defending your bases from the bad guys. Generally I zoomed about dodging asteroids.
Why do I mention that today? Because I feel as if the universe is lobbing rocks at me. Not all of the things coming at me are bad–some are, or could be, pretty damned good. But they all require my time and attention, two things in limited supply in late August anyway. All these things are coming at me pretty damned fast, and if I don’t handle them just right…well, what isn’t bad can be made to be, and what is bad can be made much worse.
So please don’t mind if I’m distracted or you don’t see me around. I’m probably just over here, hiding under my boulder from the bad rocks, playing with the good rocks, and pressing buttons that shouldn’t be pressed.
(and yes, I missed #teaserTuesday today but I’m just not up for it today.)
