Quoting from this site:
Exxon Mobil’s 2005 net income for the year comes to $1,146 a second. That per-second profit is enough to pay for gas for the average American vehicle to be driven 10,294 miles, at current gasoline prices.
I don’t have time to look back now. Wasn’t it Exxon that said they weren’t profiting that much? Said the number (I don’t recall what it was) was not what they would consider “a windfall?”
How the hell much money is a “windfall?”
Gimme ONE SECOND of that kind of profit, and I’ll be happy for at least a month. Hell, give me a whole minute of it, and I won’t complain for six months at least. Gimme an hour, and I’ll have a hybrid car and a paid-for house. Now that’s better than what they’re spending it on, isn’t it?
