Yes, my birthday was lovely, thanks for asking. One of my co-workers sent out an email saving me the trouble, *grin*, and another gave me a cute little birthday mug full of chocolate so anyone who could read but didn’t read emails would know.
Between that and the countdown to Bly dwindling rapidly to Day Zero, it was a pretty darn good day. In the evening Thomas and Donna took me and Hope to dinner at Tony Roma’s and Hope behaved beautifully. But then Thomas made an offhand comment I just could not let go…
Poor Donna. I used my newly-acquired grown-up skills (I’m 36 now) and let the subject drop before it came to shouted insults (yes, we’ve done that in the past). Shortly after my conservative friend suggested if I didn’t like it here, I should move to North Korea. Which would seem to support my observation about conservatives made a few days ago. It really surprised me that the most intelligent person I know, could come up with nothing but emotion to back up his views.
On an even happier note, I compared my new and old manuscripts tonight. In the old manuscript, the Dream arrived at Morgan’s Chance on page 240. In this one–it’s page 80. That’s down by two-thirds, whoohooo!
Yay, I’m old!
