If you haven’t noticed yet, when I get into a book, I really get in. The word count right now is 20,302. That’s eight thousand words since the last time I remembered to blog.
Oops. But so worth it. I really am improving dramatically with each book. This one would be an easy sell, I think, if my main characters weren’t gay. Unfortunately. Wouldn’t it be awesome if I were good enough to write a book where you didn’t CARE if they were gay?
I think I mentioned I didn’t plan it that way. I was as surprised as–well, as any mom would be, on finding out her child is gay. But I hope I’ve dealt with it as well as anyone could. Taro is a wonderful person, and he deserves to be happy. So I’ll write a book to get him there, and if no one wants to read it because he’s homosexual–to hell with all of them.
I gotta let the dog in. And get the laundry hung up. Then I’ll come back and work on getting Taro to the point he can be who he is. ‘Cause damn it, who he is is a pretty awesome person.
