Because if it does…Cool! Otherwise, it’s a PITA. (see other blogs for definition.) This morning one of the assistant principals asked me to write up procedures for the teachers to follow, in keeping attendance. Well, as I’m also the registrar, and it’s a busy time of year, I spaced it, until I got home. So I spent my evening working on that.
Blah. Talk about boring. I could liven it up, and stay true to the purpose and intent, but I know the least bit of frivolity is going to get yanked right back out, so no point in making it any less dull than dirt. Seems to me we’d want people to bother to read it…
Anyway. I wrote for my job, and I get paid for doing my job. So I’m a professional writer now, right? Hope so, even if I won’t be sending a clip from “Attendance Procedures” along with the cover letter for my ms. Hey, if “Attendance Procedures” is put into the teachers’ handbook, that means I have distribution, I’m not only a professional, I’m a published writer! Awesome!
