Today it’s hard to get moving. That’s not helped by the fact that I slept till nearly noon, but I think the real problem is the heat.
It’s 2200, and 91 degrees. Bleh.
I’m trying to do the final final edit on His Faithful Squire. It should be easy–I’ve been through it so many times I should be at the point of fixing punctuation and formatting and that’s it. But there’s a problem in the last big fight. It’s not a big problem, but it’s nagging at me. I understand the problem. I want to fix it. I just can’t seem to get my brain together to do it. And I’m running out of time, which doesn’t help my brain’s willingness to function at all.
It’s just trying to run out the clock, you know? Another week and a bit more and summer is over and it can relax…or something like that.
I’ve worked pretty hard this summer, and I’m proud of that. I can’t point to a book I wrote, but I did things that mattered–oh, wait. I wrote Romeo and Julian. That’s 20k. I also wrote (most of) my story for the Someone Chronicles. It’s going to come in at about 3k before I cut it. And I wrote Pancakes, a Demon, and You. That was fun. And 1.5k words. Nearly 25k along with editing Rafe twice, Romeo twice, and sleeping rather more than was probably called for? That’s not a bad summer.
No wonder my brain is trying to evade further work. Sadly (for my lazy brain), there is much more to be done.

The heat broke here… for today only, I guess. *sigh*
Thanks for the mention!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope the heat stays broken and also wanders off somewhere they want it. Like the Andes, or something.
