So I’m learning Dvorak. (here) It’s supposed to be a lot easier on the hands. All the vowels on one hand, so the typing is more divided, and the letters in more sensible spots…
I can believe it. I mean, I can type ‘tenuousness’ without lifting a finger from the keys!
Anyway. Both work and home computers will switch, so I’m going to give it a few more days of evening practice, then switch both computers and leave them that way. I’ve got to do something about my hands, before I do real damage. (okay, real damage done, and I know it. But I’m not waiting till I’m in agony before I do something about it!)
I wrote…not a damned thing tonight. Too exhausted. The first day after Christmas break is always nuts. *sigh*
Ah well. They say learning a new thing is best right before you go to bed, so that should help the new typing system. Considering I was mostly typing in my sleep. (yes, doing that now too.)
My friends have pointed out some really great Dvorak learning sites, so if anyone is interested, watch this space. I’ll post them as I check them out and find them useful. And if Dvorak isn’t all they say, I’ll post that too.
