Tom Hiddleston Stole my Pterodactyl!

I had a 220-day streak. I had a pterodactyl. His name was Steve. But last night, somewhere among the fifty fifteen tabs working on the website and the fifteen fifty Tom Hiddleston pics/gifs/videos and the other stuff I’ll get to sometime, I lost track of the 750words tab and forgot about it.

I broke my streak. I unhomed Steve. I am a bad, bad pterodactyl mommy.

So now I begin again, with a turkey. Which I shall not name, because I’m hoping to lure Steve back by feeding it to him.

A long time ago I mentioned 750words and how I love it. I think it’s time to say it again–I love it. I get up every morning and I take my breakfast to the computer desk. I browse email and look at stuff till I’m done eating (a bad habit, I know) and then… I write. I get on 750words and I type stuff. Sometimes a blog post (as I’m doing now), sometimes just a lot of whining about how I want to go back to bed, but I write something. Every day. And often something magical pops up. Two days ago I was whining about something and right in the middle of the paragraph a solid fact about Remy’s relationship with Sammael hit me and I typed it and went right back to whining. Would that fact have popped up if I hadn’t been already typing? Probably not. Or if it did, I might not have recognized its importance. OR I might have known it was important, but foolishly thought I’d remember it.

Guess what? I don’t remember it. But I do know I saved it, so when I’m ready to get back to Remy and Sammael (soon, I hope!) I can go find that fact and use it to revise the beginning, which is the part holding me up now.

Tangent: when I muck up the beginning too much because I don’t know how the end is gonna go, I can generally not write the very end. I’ve talked about this before–it’s the stall. And when I go back and fix the beginning, I’ll edit on from there, write the end, and it’ll all fit together nicely. Whoo!

I am just typing to run out my words now. And that’s sad, because I’m only at five hundred. Maybe the rest of today will just be random words, and I’ll only post the part of this that’s relevant to my blog? As if there’s anything in the world I could say was NOT relevant to this rambling blog.

Y’know what? Have some Tom Hiddleston.

A picture is worth a thousand words, right?
