In case it occurred to you that the world isn’t nuts–friend of mine, a black belt, was locking up the dojo the other night. Dojo, people, as in, KARATE SCHOOL. Locking up, as in, he is an instructor. Some idiot tries to mug him. That’s just the mildly stupid part.
My friend flattens the guy, calls the police. Guess what? My friend is charged with using excessive force. The mugger isn’t in the hospital, he doesn’t have any broken bones, he’s just fine. But my friend is in trouble for not letting himself be robbed. Kinda makes you want to go “huh?” doesn’t it?
Anyway. 4032 is the word count tonight. Told you I’d end up cutting a lot. It was a narration problem, it had to be that way. But now I feel like I’ve thrown the flow off.
