Okay, the shoes (probably?) aren’t vegetarian. It’s just a silly thing that popped into my head and wouldn’t leave, so I’ll share it with you.
Not that I’m kidding about the blood sacrifice.
New shoes! They are New Balance, expensive but soooooo comfy, and therefore worth the money. Last night I decided to really give them a try, so i strapped them on my feet and off the dog and I went.
I didn’t get ten minutes before I fell. And I still don’t know why! I didn’t trip over anything, including the dog or my own feet. I felt completely stable in the new shoes. I was on the road, and there were no cracks. I was just walking and suddenly I wasn’t. So I think it was just that the shoes demanded a sacrifice. That’s the elbow portion of the damage there. I also got my knee pretty well, obviously, and bruised my boob because when I fell on my elbow I punched myself in the chest. Also my right ankle and my left knee hurt.
But last night they didn’t hurt all that much, so I got back up and went for the rest of my walk. About three miles later I wandered home, VERY happy with my new shoes.
Lately I’ve been dealing with a lot of pain from my (self-diagnosed) plantar fasciitis. Today? Barely anything. These shoes are so worth the money.
Even if I did step in gum last night. >.<
And the vegetarian part? Remember when I said I was going to try to be a weekday (and then weekend) vegetarian? Today I did it. I can pretty much guarantee that it was the first day of my life that I ate food, but did not eat meat.
That feels pretty good. 🙂
You know what else feels pretty good? These pictures are about a year apart.
Progress! Also? I mentioned I passed Rivendell, right? Well, I am now walking blindfolded through Lothlórien.
w00t!
Yay you! Sorry about the blood sacrifice. Hopefully they only demand one. If not, see if you can sacrifice a mosquito in your stead or something. >_>
SUPER CONGRATS on the pounds lost, physical improvement, vegetarian achievement and Lothlorien walking! *glomps*
