Hmm?
That’s my lake in the upper left hand corner–the one I usually walk around. Today I decided to do a little mountain climbing instead. I’m gonna hurt a bit tomorrow–but WOW, did it feel amazing today!
View of the mountain I just climbed, from my lake as I walked home. I THINK the mountain I was actually on is the tallest one in the middle, but I did not get up to the very highest ridge. Yet.
And then…oh then. Do hawks suddenly love me, or am I just suddenly extremely lucky?
He launched off a light pole and down into that wash after something, probably a rabbit. Here he’s coming back up out of the wash, apparently having missed.
All of these were taken with my phone. I kind of regret not taking my good camera–I did think about it!–but if I had, I would have meandered about taking pictures and probably not decided to spontaneously climb a mountain. And that would have been a shame.
On top of it all, on the path to Mordor I’m taking the hobbits to Isengard. Considering that last time I tried the Éowyn Challenge, I never even made it to Rivendell, that means a lot to me.
What an afternoon. I am a lucky, lucky girl.
Spontaneous mountain climbing! Yay you, and PICTURES OF YOU! More yay! Bigger YAY!
Of /course/ hawks love you. They’re intelligent creatures. Also you were walking near sunset, which I believe is one of the times when their prey is more active. But love is certainly in there, or they wouldn’t give you the photo ops.
*TACKLEGLOMPS* I feel like I haven’t “seen” you in ages, though that’s at least half my fault because I’ve been online erratically. Hope things slow down a bit for you soon.
Did you see the song that I linked on Twitter? “The Ballad of Captain America’s Disappointed Face” If you haven’t heard it before, it’s an EXCELLENT use of 7-8 minutes. (3.5 for the song and 3 or 4 to laugh and relisten)
I ~loved~ the song! That was amazing. And I’m glad to “see” you too!
