More Firefly tonight, and that equals more love. We’re on the second DVD now. I hate it, because there are only four!
I’m completely blown away by how well-drawn the characters are. Each adventure builds them a little more, as it should be. As it is not done in so many other shows. In every episode, the crew of the Serenity are surprising and yet completely in keeping with what we’ve seen before. Zoe’s deadpan humor, Mal’s reluctant decency, Kaylee’s resourceful innocence–and don’t even get me started on Jayne.
Oh, my, yes. Jayne. I adore Adam Baldwin’s character, Jayne Cobb. Clearly, the man was born to play a gun-toting psycho with a magnificently twisted sense of humor. Of course, my enjoyment of him may reveal a little twist in my own psyche…
I can’t wait to see more. Especially as it’s been revealed that the Shepherd (think ‘priest,’ no sheep have turned up yet, though we did have cows last–ahem.) The Shepherd has a secret. Oooh…
